Cincinnati Council's Finance Committee will hold a special meeting Tuesday morning to discuss funding for some social services agencies in the city. The session follows an announcement this week that many groups that have received funding in the past are not getting any money this year. Finance Chairwoman Laketa Cole says in a release it appears there was miscommunication on many levels. She says it was Council's intention to receive recommendations on the funding and then take action. Cole says it appears Council was cut out of the process. This year a group reviewed applications for human services funding, graded them and awarded money based on priority areas. City Council approved the change last summer. In 2008, more than 60 agencies received funding. This year there were 26 awards.
